Evaporator systems

Evaporator systems are thermal systems for treating industrial wastewater. The water is evaporated by supplying energy, while impurities remain in the residue. The purified condensate can then be reused in the production process or safely discharged. Unlike conventional vacuum evaporators, MKR Metzger evaporator systems do not use negative pressure technology. They use mechanical vapor compression with heat recovery, which is particularly low-maintenance, energy-efficient, and hygienic. Typical advantages of MKR systems: Reduction of disposal and operating costs Hygienization of the condensate (virtually free of salt and heavy metals) Fully automatic operation without permanent supervision High operational reliability thanks to robust stainless steel design The systems are modular and suitable for many industrial applications, e.g., in metal processing, parts cleaning, paint shops, or for emulsion and process water.

Extraneous oils

Foreign oils are non-emulsified oils that float to the surface and can be removed. The different weights of cooling lubricants and foreign oils allow the substances to be separated from each other.

Filter cake

Filter cake is the name given to the residue of retained substances during filtration. The filter cake forms on the surface of a filter and is important for the cleaning performance of a device.

Filter fleece

Filter fleece is an artificial fleece made from polyester fibers, for example. Although it is water-permeable, it is impermeable to most soil particles. Filter fleece is used to prevent soil particles from being washed out of one area and into another.

High-pressure lance

A high-pressure lance is a steel pipe that can be connected to a high-pressure pump. The high-pressure lance is operated with a purified medium or fresh water.

Hygienized distillate

A hygienized distillate is one of the performance features of evaporator systems. Consistent use of the heat from the hygienized distillate enables low energy consumption. Compression control and integrated distillate post-treatment using a coalescer ensure the highest quality hygienized distillate.

IED – Industrial Emissions Directive

The Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) is an EU directive that regulates the authorization and monitoring of industrial facilities. Its aim is to reduce environmental pollution. It provides the legal framework within which the BAT Wastewater Directive and the associated BREF documents are implemented. In the area of BAT wastewater, the IED stipulates, among other things: that industrial installations subject to authorization must align their processes with the state of the art that limit values and target values for emissions must be complied with that operators must regularly check whether their installations are operating in accordance with BAT For wastewater treatment, this often means using modern technology such as evaporators, ultrafiltration, or coalescence separators to achieve the standards described in the BREF documents.

Membrane filtration

Membrane filtration is a physical separation process that can be used to separate molecules of different sizes and properties. The driving force behind this process is the pressure difference between the two sides of a special membrane. This can be used to reduce overall production costs while simultaneously improving product quality. Overall, membrane filtration offers many significant advantages in industrial applications where reliability, consistency, and operating costs are critical factors.

Membrane process

In general, a membrane process is used to treat contaminated water. In addition, a membrane process has the potential for enormous energy savings and significant cost savings compared to thermal desalination plants.

Metalworking fluid

So-called metalworking fluid is used as a lubricant in production to prevent friction between the tool and workpiece. At the same time, the metalworking fluid also prevents corrosion of the workpiece and, through continuous rinsing of the working environment by means of metalworking fluid, better processing results are achieved. With MKR equipment you can clean the metalworking fluid and reuse it for further production.

Modularity

Modularity is also referred to as the building block or modular principle. This refers to the division of a whole into different parts. These are called modules, components, building blocks, assemblies, or building blocks. The individual parts can be assembled according to their shape and function or interact with each other via an interface. Modularity can be divided into modularity in development, modularity in production, and modularity in use.

Oil

Oil is indispensable in everyday operations. Ultrafine particles and other contamination, however, reduce the lubricating effect of oil. Problem solutions and equipment from MKR enable all kinds of process oils to be reclaimed on site.

payback period

The payback period is the time between purchasing a device and fully covering the costs incurred. It is used to determine the profitability of an investment. Our foreign oil separators have a short payback period.

Ultra-fine cleaning

Ultra-fine cleaning removes impurities or contamination from various surfaces using particles or structures in the sub-μm range. If unwanted substances, such as roughness, cause undesirable changes to the electrical, optical, or chemical properties of surfaces, ultra-fine cleaning can be used.

Ultrafiltration

A membrane-controlled filtration process that mechanically separates fine particles, emulsions, and oils from process and cleaning water without the use of chemicals (pore size 0.01–0.2 µm). MKR ultrafiltration systems (models UC 1, UC 2, UC 4) have a modular design, are made of high-quality stainless steel, and are ideal for maintaining degreasing and cleaning baths. They extend their service life by up to 2000% and significantly reduce disposal costs.

Vacuum evaporator

Vacuum evaporators are treatment plants that distill wastewater under negative pressure to separate water and pollutants.
MKR Metzger deliberately does not rely on vacuum technology, but on robust, fully automatic Evaporator systems with mechanical vapor compression and heat recovery. Vaporizer

A vapor condenser allows you to treat process water in an energy-efficient manner thanks to vapor compression. The ET evaporator series from MKR Metzger also stands out thanks to its particularly low energy consumption and a number of advantages over other technologies. In contrast to treatment with a vapor evaporator, conventional process water treatment leaves too many heavy metals in the process water, regularly resulting in limit values being exceeded. Furthermore, unlike vapor evaporators, conventional processes require labor-intensive monitoring.
